Bhaje vishesha sundaram, samastha papa khandanam,
Swabhaktha chitha ranjanam, Sadaiva rama madvayam.
Meaning: I worship Lord Rama, who is exceptionally beautiful, and second to none. The one who makes us free of all sins and destroys all demonic spirits. I worship that Lord, who makes the minds of his true devotees very peaceful and happy.
जटाकलापशोभितं समस्तपापनाशकं ।
स्वभक्तभीतिभञ्जनं भजे ह राममद्वयम् ॥ २ ॥
Jatakalapa Shobhitham, Samastha papa nasakam,
Swabhaktha bheethi bhanjanam, Bhajeha rama madvayam.
Meaning: I always pray to Lord Rama, who looks stunning with his matted hair and who, with his divine power, destroys all sins. I worship that Lord, who frees his devotees from fear and bestows on them a peaceful mind.
निजस्वरूपबोधकं कृपाकरं भवापहम् ।
समं शिवं निरञ्जनं भजे ह राममद्वयम् ॥ ३ ॥
Nija swaroopa bhodhakam, krupakaram bhavapaham,
Samam shivam niranjanam, Bhajeha rama madvayam.
Meaning: I worship Lord Rama, who reveals his true divine identity to his devotees. I praise the one who is very aspirious and the remover of obstacles. The one who sees and treats everyone equally, and does everything that is ultimately beneficial to his devotees.
सहप्रपञ्चकल्पितं ह्यनामरूपवास्तवम् ।
निराकृतिं निरामयं भजे ह राममद्वयम् ॥ ४ ॥
Saha prapancha kalpitham, hyanamaroopa vasthavam,
Nirakruthim niramayam, Bhajeha rama madvayam.
Meaning: I worship Lord Rama, who is incomparable and, despite his divine nature, appears in the world as a normal being. I worship Rama, the supreme lord, who can manifest into anything but chose to remain with us to teach the lesson of dharma through his divine actions. I worship the one who is free of all challenges.
निष्प्रपञ्चनिर्विकल्पनिर्मलं निरामयम् ।
चिदेकरूपसन्ततं भजे ह राममद्वयम् ॥ ५ ॥
Nishprapancha, nirvikalpa, nirmalam, niramayam,
Chideka roopa santhatham, Bhajeha rama madvayam.
Meaning: I worship Lord Rama, who, despite being a king, is free of all indulgences. I worship the one supreme lord, who cannot be known entirely. The one who himself is a living symbol of ultimate truth and justice.
भवाब्धिपोतरूपकं ह्यशेषदेहकल्पितम् ।
गुणाकरं कृपाकरं भजे ह राममद्वयम् ॥ ६ ॥
Bhavabdhipotha roopakam, hyasesha deha kalpitham,
Gunakaram, krupakaram, Bhajeha rama madvayam.
Meaning: I worship Lord Rama, who is breathtakingly beautiful and the epitome of ultimate perfection. I worship Rama, who has immeasurable forms and whose exact divinity cannot be known completely. I worship the one who is unchallengeable, and the granter of all good wishes, and prosperity.
महावाक्यबोधकैर्विराजमानवाक्पदैः ।
परं ब्रह्मसद्व्यापकं भजे ह राममद्वयम् ॥ ७ ॥
Maha vakhya bodhakair virajamana vakpadai,
Parabrahma vyapakam, Bhajeha rama madvayam.
Meaning: I worship Lord Rama, who is equal to an infinite number of sages and saints. I worship the one who is exceptional and whose divine presence can be felt anywhere and everywhere.
शिवप्रदं सुखप्रदं भवच्छिदं भ्रमापहम् ।
विराजमानदेशिकं भजे ह राममद्वयम् ॥ ८ ॥
Shiva pradham sukhapradham, bhavaschidham bramapaham,
Virajamana desikam, Bhajeha rama madvayam.
Meaning: I worship Lord Rama, who brings prosperity and happiness to his devotees, despite being free of all indulgences. I worship one who destroys the illusion of mind. I worship Lord Rama, who is second to none.
रामाष्टकं पठति यस्सुखदं सुपुण्यं
व्यासेन भाषितमिदं शृणुते मनुष्यः
विद्यां श्रियं विपुलसौख्यमनन्तकीर्तिं
संप्राप्य देहविलये लभते च मोक्षम् ॥ ९ ॥
Ramashtakam padathi ya sukaram supunyam,
Vyasena bhashithamidham, srunuthe manushya,
Vidhyam sriyam vipula soukhyamanantha keerthim,
Samprapya deha vilaye labhathe cha moksham.
Meaning: Anyone who reads, chants, or listens to this lovely stotram will be blessed with knowledge, prosperity, wealth, and good health. Anyone who reads or chants this easy stotram will achieve moksha after leaving the body.
